Beautiful Decay

It may be strange to hear, but I honestly believe there is beauty in decay. From the abandoned halls of Eastern State Penitentiary to the long-dormant rooms at the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, the United States is home to an endless array of abandoned structures. This is a study of these places, and the beauty that can be found even when we least expect it.

I have always looked upon decay as being just as wonderful and rich an expression of life as growth.
— Henry Miller
