The Bob Ross Method

As a child, I spent many hours watching Bob Ross, on his show "The Joy of Painting". I was fascinated with his painting skills, and his favorite phrases like "magic mountains", and "happy little trees". His palettes were inspired by nature, with oil colors like Van Dyke brown, Alizarin crimson, Indian yellow, and bright red. He often said on the show that he believed everyone had inherent artistic talent and could become accomplished artists given time, practice, and encouragement. While painting, he would calmly say,
"We don't make mistakes, we just make happy little accidents".

While the "Bob Ross Method" is technically a painting guide, I believe his spirit and approach is something that all artists and photographers can learn, and benefit from.
