Under my Christmas this year was the Zoom H2 Handy Recorder! It's a powerful, yet incredibly portable, 4 ounce field recorder. This device enables me to capture stereo recordings in WAV format at 96kHz/48kHz/44.1kHz at 16-bit or 24-bit. For field work, it runs off of 2 rechargeable AA batteries. There are some cool bells and whistles on this thing as well. There's an included windscreen, 512mb SD card, ac adapter, usb cable, headphones, and a carrying case. It even has a built in guitar tuner which I already used to tune up my Martin.
While I don't plan to do too much guitar tuning with it. I have already started preliminary work on several multimedia projects I'm quite excited about. My initial tests have proven to be very promising, and I think these new projects will be some of my best yet. For now though, I am still fine tuning the Zoom H2 settings thanks to the really knowledgeable folks at the Zoom recording forum. Stay tuned for much more in the coming weeks.
