Injured Seals at Montauk (slightly graphic)

Although they are cute, seals are wild animals who sometimes bite each other. The two pictured below seemed to be in otherwise normal condition, but I contacted the proper authorities to make them aware of the situation so they could evaluate. On Long Island, the proper contact is the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation. Their website reads as follows:

To report a sighting of a healthy, sick, alive or dead marine mammal or sea turtle, contact us at our emergency hotline number

24-Hour Stranding Hotline: 631-369-9829

Cropped to show the bite marks on the seals neck.
