Dahlias at Eisenhower Park

Yes, I still shoot flowers. They may not be as exciting as political rallies, or wild animals, but then again, that depends on who you ask. For example, did you know there are entire groups dedicated just to Dahlia's? They hold monthly meetings and discuss various ideas on planting, and growing their flowers. Every year at Eisenhower Park they hold a beautiful Dahlia display that peaks around the month of September. They even have a judge come in and give out awards. They have a website right here.

By October, the flowers begin to shrivel up due to the cold. Today I had a chance to photograph some with my 100mm macro lens. Thankfully, many of them were still in excellent condition.
