Some of my earliest memories are of my Mom working on oil paintings in the living room. I remember the smell of the paint, the turpentine, and how the canvas took forever to dry. She kept many of her paint tubes in an old metal lunchbox. I was so intrigued by the curious shapes of the brushes and knives.

To her, there was no problem that couldn't be solved with a bit of imagination and creativity. When money was tight and I wanted a new Pacman shirt, she took a plain white tee, and painted the characters right on the shirt with acrylics. It was better than anything you could have bought in a store because it was made with love.

Although she is not currently painting, she says her three greatest masterpieces are her kids, "each artistic and unique in their own way". Her efforts have made it possible for us to follow our dreams. This post is a tribute to her, and a way to show my gratitude for everything she has done. Thank you Mom!
Happy Mothers Day!
