I just got back from a trip to Washington D.C. where the forecast called for constant rain. While I love the sunshine, I figured that the overcast conditions could actually work in my favor. Besides keeping the crowds indoors, bad weather sometimes provides interesting skies, and diffused light. When I woke up at 5:30am, rubbed my eyes and peered out of my hotel window, I noticed there were no puddles in the street. I hightailed it for 1 mile to the Capitol Building to make this photograph before the sun rose, or skies opened up. The clouds also came in quite handy at the National Zoo where I had a chance to photograph "Tian Tian", the beautiful Giant Panda. More on that later in the week after I've unpacked and downloaded the contents of my memory cards.
