The other day, I posted about recognizing the light, and using it to create a mood that enhances the subject. That same idea was used to capture this street vendor in NYC. As I walked past, I noticed the way the interior light seemed to illuminate just his world. All around, the city whizzed by at its usual frantic pace. Yet inside, this man was deep in thought, oblivious to my camera. By slightly underexposing the candy and surrounding merchandise, the attention falls squarely on him. An added bonus was his reflection in the mirror to his right.
