On a recent hike at Caumsett State Park I came across a mirror like reflection of the dawn sky in a rain water puddle. I love to work these into my composition as it opens up a world that was not otherwise possible. For more on utilizing puddles in your work, check out my audioboo (podcast).
A bit further down the trail, the sun broke through the clouds to welcome a beautiful morning. To emphasize its expansiveness, I placed the trees very low in the frame using the old "ten and ninety" compositional trick. For new readers of the blog, you may want to go back and check out the theory behind this.
