There are photographic subjects everywhere you look, even down. On an early morning hike at Sagamore Hill I came across this great patch of grass with wavy patterns and knew it would work as a contrasty B&W print. My dog Miles dutifully sat at my side just long enough for me to set up the tripod and frame this shot. The grounds are part of Sagamore Hill, which is President Teddy Roosevelt's old house. Surprisingly, dogs are allowed on the trail since the Roosevelt family were true animal lovers. And while it's not pictured here, I confess he did indeed pee on the President's lawn. No disrespect intended, it's just nature's way.
