One night in Vagliagli after a heavy rain, the sky turned a brilliant fiery orange. I decided to use my long lens, a 70-200mm to focus on just a small part of the landscape and show more of the sky. As the minutes passed, the clouds became increasingly more interesting until finally it appeared as you see it here.
The technique was pretty straightforward. No filters were needed, no added saturation in post production. In order to put the horizon line at the very bottom of the frame, I switched the lens to manual focus. This allowed me to break the mold of relying on the placement of the autofocus points, and create a slightly different composition.
