Dog Days of Spring

For two weekends each year, once in Spring, the other in Fall, Old Westbury Gardens opens their beautiful grounds to our four legged friends with an event called "Dog Days".  If you live in the Metro NY area, I highly recommend marking your calendar for the next one as it is truly a wonderful day.

The grounds are expansive enough to take a quiet leisurely stroll, or a vigorous hike, and vendors set up booths of unique pet merchandise. They even have adoption agencies with dogs who need a good home.

After several hours of hiking and exploring, Miles and Opal were totally worn out.  I found a patch of wildflowers and decided to take their portraits with the 6D and 85mm f1.8.  Ever curious, Miles decided to lay down next to me and Sue caught the moment with her iPhone (above).  For more info on the Gardens, visit their website here
