You Pave Paradise

As much as I love New York, there are times I just want to escape the lawn pesticides, the idling engines, the planes crisscrossing to and from three major airports, and the crush of traffic surrounding the mega shopping malls. I'm looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly at my own home which is just outside of the city itself. We compost, grow our own vegetables and herbs, and recycle glass, plastic, aluminum, and paper. I still feel I could do more, and am seeking more organic methods of lawn care, and insect control. I understand these issues are not isolated to my town but to every home in America. What are some of the things you do to make a positive impact on your local environment?  Let me know over on the Facebook page.
