When the Snow First Started to Fall

People are now saying the storm was overhyped, and that it wasn't "that bad". The pictures show a different story however with near whiteout conditions, and a steady driving snow that made traveling quite treacherous. 

With the LIRR declaring a shut down at 11pm, throngs of commuters surged into Penn Station trying to get home. Total accumulations varied by location, with most of Long Island receiving 12-18 inches.
