Winter Waterfall, Kent Connecticut

Sue and I took a road trip to Kent Falls State Park in Connecticut to get the dogs some exercise and also photograph this beautiful waterfall. While the trail is only a short quarter mile, we didn't necessarily mind considering how frigid it was. My fingertips were frozen through the gloves making it tough to move the auto focus point. I even noticed several chunks of large ice bobbing around the falls. That of course did not stop Opal (the water loving lab) from testing the temperature. She quickly realized it was the wrong decision! A few brave hikers joined us, but the park was largely empty. It turned out to be just enough of an adventure to wet my appetite for more excursions in 2015. Of course I'll share them all here, along with thoughts on technique, gear, settings and more. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Happy New Year!
